This Foder's guide is to Germany as of 1990. This means it was written prior to the collapse of the Soviet Union. Germany as referred to in the title is primarily West Germany with added excursions into East German. This makes this book of special interest to writers and travel historians.
It is divided into regions and major cities or tourist areas within the region. It includes maps, hours of opening, admissions (these will not be current), restaurants, accomodations and more.
Foder's guides have long been considered the travelers' Bible. Well-researched, up-to-date, and complete, they provide just about anything you need to know when traveling. There are country guides, regional guides and city guides but a guide such as this one gives an overview that will help you plan your trip in advance.
This book is primarily recommended for research. If you are trying to determine which places are do-able within your time frame this will be of great help.
