This is a souvenir scarf from London, England. It is acetate and has a background of white with a border of pink and is printed with sketches of the monuments of the city, including Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the Parliament buildings, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral, Marble Arch, and Piccadilly Circus. The center has a griffin on either side of a shield topped by a knight's winged helmet.
The scarf is 26 inches square and, while really old and used, has no holes or stains.
The thing I find interesting about this scarf is that the sketches were either done by Bernard Buffet or someone imitating him. The scarf would date from just post WWII to the mid 1950s so the date range would be right for Buffet as well. The scarf is not signed.
